The Problem

Jumia seller challenges we solve

Jumia rewards catalog quality, operational reliability and campaign discipline. Most struggling stores are losing on Seller Score and on delivery economics at the same time, and usually cannot see either clearly.

Seller Score quietly falling

Late dispatch, cancellations and out-of-stock items dragging the score down, which restricts visibility and campaign eligibility long before anyone notices.

Failed deliveries eating margin

Cash-on-delivery parcels refused at the door, with the outbound and return legs both paid for and no revenue against them.

Incomplete product attributes

Required fields left blank at upload, so products never surface in filtered browsing where a large share of the traffic sits.

Images rejected or quality-flagged

Listings blocked or downranked for background, resolution or watermark breaches that take minutes to fix and months to notice.

Black Friday planned in October

The largest commercial window of the year approached without stock cover, pricing or assets ready in time.

Advertising run without structure

One campaign, one budget, no separation by product margin or objective, so nothing can be judged or scaled.

Wrong fulfilment model

Everything seller-fulfilled when Jumia Express would win the buy position, or everything on Express when the margin cannot carry it.

One listing for eight countries

English content copied into francophone and Arabic-speaking markets with no local adaptation and no local pricing.

Stock-outs during campaigns

Selling out on day one, losing the revenue and the ranking momentum the campaign traffic was building.

Reviews and ratings unmanaged

Negative reviews driven by delivery and expectation problems rather than by the product, left to accumulate unanswered.

No view of true profitability

Commission, fulfilment fees, return cost and failed-delivery cost sitting outside the reporting entirely.

Managed as a side channel

One person covering several marketplaces, so score drift and campaign deadlines are found too late to act on.

What We Do

Our Jumia services

Eight services covering the whole store. On Jumia, operations and catalog quality carry disproportionate weight, so that is where the emphasis sits.

01

Seller Center operations, store settings, shipping configuration and the weekly rhythm that keeps Seller Score healthy.

02

Listing & Catalog Management

Product creation, attributes, variations and catalog hygiene across the SKU estate and across markets.

03

Keyword and attribute research for Jumia search, including French and Arabic terms where the market needs them.

04

Sponsored placement structured by product, margin band and objective rather than one shared budget.

05

Campaign & Promotion Management

Black Friday, Anniversary, Tech Week and category campaigns — registration, pricing, stock and assets.

06

Listing imagery, specification graphics, campaign banners and official store creative.

07

Listing effectiveness, pricing, delivery clarity and the trust signals that close a cash-on-delivery buyer.

08

Performance analysis, contribution modelling including failed-delivery cost, and multi-country expansion planning.

Also selling on Noon or Daraz? See noon, Daraz, or all platforms we support.

Operations

Marketplace account & store management

The weekly operational work. On Jumia, dispatch performance and Seller Score suppress visibility directly, which makes operations commercial work rather than admin.

Same operating model as our eCommerce management service, applied to Jumia Seller Center.

Catalog

Product listings & catalog optimization

Catalog completeness drives search relevance, filtered browsing and campaign eligibility on Jumia. It is the input most sellers leave half finished at upload and never revisit.

Research

Listing Content

Catalog

Optimization

On a marketplace where a large share of orders are paid at the door, a listing that sets the wrong expectation does not just fail to convert — it generates a refused parcel you pay to ship twice.

Organic

Jumia search & organic visibility

Jumia search weighs relevance, content completeness, sales history, price competitiveness and seller performance together. Keywords alone address one of five.

Marketplace search and web search are different disciplines. Our web methodology is on the eCommerce SEO page.

Paid

Jumia advertising & paid growth

Sponsored placement on Jumia works when it is structured. One campaign carrying the whole catalog on a single budget is the most common structural mistake we inherit.

Our wider paid media methodology sits on the PPC & paid advertising page.

Creative

Product content, imagery & store creative

Jumia buyers browse on mobile, often on constrained connections, and often pay at the door. Eight asset types below, in the order they usually earn their production cost.

Conversion

Conversion & marketplace performance optimization

You do not control checkout, so optimization means everything upstream. On a cash-on-delivery marketplace, the conversion that matters is the parcel that gets accepted.

Acceptance

Most Jumia sellers optimise the click and ignore the doorstep. The second one is where the money actually leaks, and listing content is the main lever on it.

Health

Marketplace operations & seller performance

The monitoring layer. On Jumia, Seller Score and delivery metrics restrict visibility and campaign eligibility directly, so this is watched weekly rather than quarterly.

Regional

Regional execution across African markets

Jumia is not one marketplace. Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Uganda differ on currency, category demand, logistics reach and payment behaviour. Execution is regional or it is guesswork.

Commercial Control

On a cash-on-delivery marketplace, a parcel that is refused at the door still costs you the outbound and return leg. That number belongs in your product margin model, not in a surprise line at month end.

How It Works

Our Jumia growth process

Six steps. The campaign calendar sits underneath all of them, because the registration dates are fixed and stock decisions have to be made long before them.

01

Audit

Seller Score, catalog, content completeness, search visibility, advertising, campaign history and delivery economics reviewed together. You keep the document either way.

02

Research

Keyword, competitor and price-position research per country, plus a contribution model with commission, fulfilment, returns and failed deliveries in it.

03

Build the Strategy

A twelve-month plan built around Black Friday, Anniversary and category campaigns, with named owners, target metrics and stock planning per market.

04

Optimize & Implement

Seller Score and catalog first, so campaigns and advertising land on a healthy store rather than amplifying a broken one.

05

Advertise & Grow

Sponsored placement structured and paced to the calendar, with country budgets allocated on contribution.

06

Monitor & Scale

Score, delivery metrics and contribution monitored weekly, then scaling — more SKUs, Jumia Express, Official Store, or additional countries.

Fixing Seller Score before increasing ad spend is the cheapest sequencing decision available on this platform. Paid traffic to a suppressed store buys you clicks and not much else.

Fit

Why Us

Why choose us for Jumia

Eight reasons you can check rather than take on trust. Ask us for evidence on any of them.

Marketplace-Focused Expertise

Jumia behaves differently from Western marketplaces, and we work to how it actually ranks, sells and delivers.

Seller Score Treated Commercially

Score components monitored weekly because they gate visibility, campaigns and Express eligibility.

Delivery Economics Modelled

Failed deliveries and returns priced into product margin rather than discovered in the payout statement.

Campaign Planning as a Discipline

Black Friday and Anniversary planned a quarter ahead, when stock and pricing decisions still change the outcome.

Multi-Country Awareness

Eight markets with different currency, language, category demand and logistics reach, planned separately.

Data-Driven Optimization

Search terms, product-level conversion and delivery data drive decisions rather than category folklore.

Transparent Reporting

Contribution after commission, fulfilment, returns and failed deliveries — less flattering, more useful.

Multi-Marketplace Capability

Jumia alongside noon, Amazon and your own store, on one catalog strategy and one forecast.

FAQs

Jumia FAQs

Eight questions that come up in most Jumia conversations. More on our full FAQ page.

Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Uganda. The platform mechanics are broadly consistent, but currency, category demand, language and logistics reach are not, so each country gets its own plan rather than a copy of the last one.

Because it is not just a badge. Score components — dispatch timeliness, cancellation rate, out-of-stock rate, customer ratings — feed into how much visibility your products get and whether you are eligible for campaigns and for Jumia Express. A store with a suppressed score is paying for advertising into a throttled position, which is the most expensive way to trade on this platform.

Mostly through listing accuracy. A large share of doorstep refusals come from a buyer receiving something that does not match what they thought they ordered — wrong size, wrong shade, wrong quantity, unclear compatibility. Fixing specification clarity, adding the right graphics and stating delivery timing honestly cuts refusals more than any operational change. Encouraging prepayment on higher-value items helps as well.

It depends on your margin, your category and how spiky your demand is around campaigns. Express helps with dispatch speed, buy-position and campaign eligibility, and it absorbs the Black Friday volume spike. It is not always cheaper than seller-fulfilled. We model it per SKU and per country rather than assuming it, and a split across both is often the right answer.

A full quarter ahead, at minimum. The commercial decisions that matter — what stock to hold, at what price, in which country, with what assets — all have lead times. By the time registration opens, the useful decisions have usually already been made or missed.

Yes. Francophone West Africa and the North African markets need genuine local-language listings rather than machine-translated English, and the keyword research has to be done in the language buyers actually search in. We treat this as market work rather than translation work.

Yes. Jumia sits well alongside noon for sellers covering both Africa and the Gulf, and alongside your own store. Catalogs, pricing and campaign calendars benefit from being planned together, with the platform differences respected rather than flattened. See noon or all platforms we support.

You do, always. We work under our own user permissions inside your account. If the relationship ends, we remove our access and everything — listings, creative, campaigns, documentation — stays with you.
