BigCommerce Agency
A BigCommerce Agency That Uses What the Platform Already Gives You
Management, marketing, development and creative for BigCommerce and BigCommerce Enterprise merchants — from a team that starts with the native feature set instead of reaching for an app.
- Native faceted search, promotions and multi-storefront used properly before anything is bought
- Stencil and headless builds by the same team that runs the ads and the SEO
- Reporting on revenue, contribution margin and repeat rate — not platform dashboards

The Problem
BigCommerce challenges we solve
BigCommerce ships with more built in than its competitors, which creates a specific failure mode: stores paying for apps that duplicate features they already own.
Apps duplicating native features
Paying monthly for faceted search, promotions or reviews that the plan already includes, because nobody read what came with it.
Faceted URLs eating the crawl budget
Filter combinations generating thousands of near-duplicate URLs, with canonicals and robots rules never configured.
Stencil theme nobody can touch
A theme customised by a developer who has moved on, no local dev setup documented, and every small change now a quote.
Catalog structure fighting the store
Categories, options and modifiers set up inconsistently at launch, so faceted search, feeds and reporting all behave unpredictably.
Slow storefront
Heavy hero imagery, unused scripts and a theme carrying features the store does not use. Mobile performance nobody has measured.
Multi-storefront run as separate stores
Three storefronts with three catalogs, three sets of content and three times the maintenance, when one catalog would do.
B2B running on B2C settings
Wholesale customers buying at retail prices through a retail checkout, with price lists and customer groups left unconfigured.
Checkout friction
Optimised One-Page Checkout available and unused, no express wallets, and shipping cost revealed too late.
Integrations held together by exports
An ERP and a 3PL joined to the store by a weekly CSV somebody downloads by hand.
Split vendors
A theme developer, a media agency and an in-house merchandiser, none of whom can see the whole number.
One-and-done customers
Strong acquisition, weak repeat. No lifecycle automation, so every order is bought at full price.
Reporting nobody trusts
BigCommerce Analytics, GA4 and the ad platforms all disagree, so decisions get made on whichever number helps.
What We Do
Our BigCommerce services
Eight services covering the whole store. Each links to the specialist page where the method lives — this page is about how they behave on BigCommerce specifically.
01
Day-to-day store, catalog, merchandising and operational management on a documented weekly rhythm.
02
Integrated acquisition and growth across search, paid, social, email and content.
03
Technical, category, product and content optimization — starting with faceted URL control, which is where most BigCommerce SEO is won or lost.
04
Google Search, Shopping, Performance Max and Meta, running off a product feed that reflects the real catalog.
05
Product pages, faceted navigation, cart and Optimized One-Page Checkout, tested rather than assumed.
06
Lifecycle marketing and automation that makes the second order cheaper than the first.
07
Stencil themes, headless builds, custom functionality, API integrations and performance work.
08
Product, campaign and performance creative, produced against what the data says is working.
Not sure which two matter most right now? A BigCommerce audit covers all eight plus the app stack and the native features you are already paying for. Packages are on the pricing page.

Growth Model
BigCommerce marketing & growth
Three lanes, three outcomes. On BigCommerce the first lane needs the faceted URL question answered before any content work starts, or the traffic never arrives.

Repeat Revenue
Second and third orders won without paying for the click again, which is what makes the first lane affordable.
Detail on each lane sits on eCommerce marketing, CRO and email & retention.
Build
BigCommerce development & technology
Stencil or headless, decided on what the business actually needs rather than on what is fashionable. Built by the team that then has to market the result.
Ten areas we work in on BigCommerce. The app audit is where most engagements start, because native feature overlap is the most common source of avoidable cost.
- BigCommerce store development — new builds from scoping through launch
- Stencil theme development, customization and local dev workflow documentation
- Store redesign with existing analytics and conversion data as the brief
- Migrations from Magento, WooCommerce, Shopify and custom carts
- Headless builds — Catalyst, Next.js and BigCommerce for WordPress
- Multi-storefront architecture on a single shared catalog
- B2B Edition setup — price lists, customer groups, quoting and payment terms
- API and system integrations to ERP, 3PL, POS, CRM and PIM
- App stack audit and replacement of anything the platform already does natively
- Performance optimization and ongoing technical maintenance
The full engineering process, stack and QA approach sits on our eCommerce development & technology page.
Conversion
BigCommerce CRO & customer experience
Every step leaks. We measure which one leaks most before changing anything — and on BigCommerce, faceted navigation is usually further up the list than people expect.

On the last four BigCommerce stores we audited, three were paying for at least one app that duplicated a feature included in their plan.
How It Works
Our BigCommerce growth process
Six steps. The audit covers the platform configuration as well as the marketing, because on BigCommerce the configuration is doing more work than most teams realise.
01
Audit
Store, catalog, faceted search, SEO, paid media, CRO, retention and the app stack against native features. You keep the document either way.
02
Identify Growth Opportunities
Everything the audit found, sized by likely revenue impact and effort, so sequencing is argued on evidence.
03
Build the Strategy
A twelve-month plan with a detailed first ninety days, named owners, a measurement framework and the numbers we expect to move.
04
Implement
Weekly delivery against a shared board, with theme work going through a documented Stencil workflow rather than the control panel.
05
Measure & Optimize
Monthly reporting on revenue, conversion rate, AOV, repeat rate and channel contribution, with what we learned and what changes.
06
Scale
Budget into what proved out, cut what did not, and add storefronts, channels or markets once the catalog architecture can carry them.
The audit covers store, SEO, paid media, CRO, retention and technology together. On BigCommerce the constraint is frequently the catalog and faceted configuration.
Fit
BigCommerce services by business goal
Start from the outcome you need this quarter. Most stores need two of these, not eight.
Your goal
How we help
Launch a BigCommerce store
Design & development — catalog architecture, Stencil build, configuration, launch checklist and monitoring.
Grow organic sales
BigCommerce SEO — faceted URL control first, then category, product and content optimization.
Generate sales quickly
PPC & Shopping — feed hygiene first, then Search, Shopping and Performance Max structured for margin.
Improve conversion rate
BigCommerce CRO — research, prioritised hypotheses and testing across category, PDP, cart and checkout.
Increase repeat purchases
Email & retention — lifecycle flows, segmentation, post-purchase and win-back programmes.
Improve store performance
Development & optimization — theme weight, app audit, script strategy and Core Web Vitals.
Sell B2B and B2C together
B2B Edition configuration — price lists, customer groups, quoting and terms alongside the retail storefront.
Scale into new markets
Multi-storefront architecture on one catalog, with localised content, pricing and campaigns.
Why Us
Why choose us as your BigCommerce agency
Eight reasons you can check rather than take on trust. Ask us for evidence on any of them.
eCommerce-First Expertise
Every client sells products online. The pattern library is specific to commerce rather than borrowed from brand work.
Management + Marketing + Technology
One team across all three, so the catalog fix and the campaign change happen in the same week rather than two months apart.
Native Features Before Apps
We audit what your plan already includes before recommending anything with a monthly fee. It usually reduces the bill.
Revenue-Focused Optimization
We report contribution after ad spend and COGS, not just ROAS. Less flattering, more useful.
Data-Driven Decisions
One agreed measurement setup, reconciled across BigCommerce Analytics, GA4 and the ad platforms before anyone argues.
Integrated Specialist Team
Specialists per discipline rather than generalists spread thin, coordinated by one account lead who owns the number.
B2B and B2C Under One Roof
Wholesale and retail run as one commercial plan rather than two disconnected projects with two vendors.
Transparent Reporting
You own every account. Reporting shows what we did, what it cost and what moved — including what failed.

FAQs
BigCommerce FAQs
Eight questions that come up in most BigCommerce conversations. More on our full FAQ page.
Why BigCommerce instead of Shopify?
Usually for three reasons: more included in the base plan so fewer apps, no platform transaction fee on any payment gateway, and stronger native B2B and multi-storefront handling. Shopify wins on ecosystem breadth and on how much you can do without a developer. We have recommended both. The honest comparison depends on your catalog complexity, whether you sell B2B, and how many storefronts you need.
Do we need Stencil development or can we use the control panel?
A lot can be done in the control panel and Page Builder, and we use them where they are the right tool. Anything structural — template changes, custom functionality, performance work — goes through a proper Stencil workflow with version control and a local environment, because control-panel edits are difficult to review, test or roll back.
Should we go headless?
Only for a specific reason: a content-heavy front end, an existing design system, genuinely unusual UX requirements, or multiple front ends on one catalog. Headless adds engineering cost and removes some of what you are paying BigCommerce for. If the reason is “it sounds faster”, a well-built Stencil theme will usually get you there for far less.
Can you fix our faceted search SEO problem?
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons stores come to us. The work is deciding which filter combinations deserve to be indexable, configuring canonicals and robots rules accordingly, then building real content on the category pages that survive. It is not glamorous and it is usually the single biggest organic lever on a BigCommerce store.
Can you migrate us to BigCommerce?
Yes, most often from Magento or WooCommerce. Migrations run as scoped projects rather than inside a retainer, because they carry risk that needs its own plan — URL mapping and redirects, catalog and option restructuring, order and customer history, and a rankings-protection plan agreed before anything moves.
Do you work with B2B Edition?
Yes. Price lists, customer groups, quoting, payment terms, purchase orders and the sales-rep experience. Most of the value is in configuration rather than code, and most stores we take on have it switched on and set up incompletely.
Who owns the store and the ad accounts?
You do, always. We work in your accounts under our own logins. If the relationship ends, we remove our access and everything — theme code, configuration, campaigns, flows, documentation — stays with you.
How do you report on performance?
A monthly report and a live dashboard covering revenue, sessions, conversion rate, AOV, repeat rate and channel contribution, reconciled between BigCommerce, GA4 and the ad platforms. It includes what we shipped, what moved, what did not, and what changes next month.
