The Problem
Wix challenges we solve
Wix gets dismissed as a hobby platform, usually by people who last looked at it years ago. The real problems are configuration and discipline, not the platform — twelve of them below.
SEO left at defaults
Wix ships a capable SEO toolset that most stores never open — no custom slugs, no structured data, no canonical strategy.
Slow, heavy pages
Uncompressed hero media, six overlapping apps and animation on every section, then confusion about why mobile bounces.
Desktop-first layouts
Designed on a wide canvas and adjusted for mobile afterwards, where most of the traffic and almost none of the conversion happens.
Catalog structure as an afterthought
Collections, filters and product options set up ad hoc, so browsing breaks down past a few dozen SKUs.
App sprawl
Apps installed to solve one problem each, never reviewed, each adding scripts and monthly cost.
Checkout left untouched
Default checkout settings, no wallet payments, no express options and shipping revealed too late.
Automations never built
Wix Automations sitting idle while abandoned carts and post-purchase follow-up go unhandled.
No Velo capability
Requirements dismissed as impossible when Velo would handle them, so the store gets rebuilt elsewhere instead.
Analytics not trusted
No GA4 events, no consent handling and reporting nobody believes, so decisions come from instinct.
Template creative
Stock imagery from the template still in place, doing nothing for differentiation or conversion.
Nobody owns the store
A designer built it, a freelancer patches it, and no one is accountable for revenue.
Migration threatened annually
Replatforming discussed every year instead of fixing the three things actually holding the store back.

- Coupons, automatic discounts and promotional campaigns
- Content updates — pages, banners, menus and announcement bars

- Continuous improvements shipped in a prioritised weekly queue
Reporting
- Sales by collection, product and channel with period comparison
- Store performance — conversion rate, AOV, sessions and repeat rate
- Growth opportunities flagged with an estimated size and effort
This is the same operating model described on our eCommerce management page, applied specifically to Wix.
Growth Model
Wix marketing & growth
Three lanes, three outcomes. Most Wix stores run one of them well and treat the other two as someone else’s problem, which is why growth stalls.
SEO
Google Ads
Meta Ads
Content
Traffic
Qualified sessions from people with commercial intent, at a cost you can defend against contribution margin rather than revenue.
CRO
Mobile UX
Product pages
Conversion
More of that traffic buying, from research-led changes to navigation, product pages, cart and checkout — tested, not guessed.
SMS
Automations
Repeat Revenue
Second and third orders that arrive without paying for the click again, which is what makes the first lane affordable.
Full detail on each lane lives on eCommerce marketing, CRO and email & retention.
Build
Wix development & technology
Development planned around what the store has to do commercially, by the team that has to market it afterwards. Wix Studio and Velo cover far more than most agencies assume.
Ten areas we work in on Wix. Migrations and Velo work are scoped separately because they carry risk that a monthly retainer should not absorb.
- Wix and Wix Studio store development — new builds from scoping to launch
- Template customization, or a bespoke Studio build where the template fights you
- Store redesign with the existing conversion data as the brief
- Migrations to Wix from Squarespace, WordPress and hosted builders
- Velo custom functionality — dynamic pages, data collections and bespoke logic
- App Market selection, configuration and the audit that removes three
- API integrations to ERP, 3PL, CRM, accounting and subscription tools
- Performance optimization against Core Web Vitals and real device data
- Technical maintenance, monitoring and a release routine that catches regressions
- Wix Studio client handover, editor permissions and multi-site management
The full engineering process, stack and QA approach is on our eCommerce development & technology page.
Conversion
Wix CRO & customer experience
Every step below leaks. We find which one leaks most for your store before touching anything, because the biggest win is rarely where people expect it.
Homepage
Category
Product
Cart
Checkout
Purchase
Discovery
- Navigation and menu structure
- Product discovery, search and filtering
- Category page layout and sort logic
Product
- Product page structure and content order
- Imagery, option selection and stock messaging
- Trust elements — reviews, guarantees, delivery promise
Mobile & Cart
- Mobile UX, tap targets and sticky add-to-cart
- Cart experience and continue-shopping path
- Upsells and cross-sells that do not interrupt
Checkout & Testing
- Checkout friction, wallets and shipping transparency
- A/B testing with a stated hypothesis and stop rule
- Post-test rollout, monitoring and documentation
Wix gives you less control over checkout than Shopify does, which makes everything upstream of it matter more. Our full CRO methodology is on the CRO page.
Stack
Wix apps & integrations
Organised by what each app is actually for. Most stores we inherit are running three apps that do the same job and paying for all of them.
Marketing
- Email and SMS
- Reviews and user content
- Loyalty and referrals
Analytics
- Tracking and event setup
- Reporting dashboards
- Attribution and consent
Operations
- Inventory sync
- Shipping and rates
- Fulfilment and returns
Customer Experience
- Site search
- Personalisation
- Support and live chat
Business Systems
- CRM
- ERP
- Accounting
Every app carries a script cost and a monthly cost. We audit both, and the answer is usually fewer apps rather than better ones.
How It Works
Our Wix growth process
Six steps. The audit is the part that changes most between stores; everything after it follows the same discipline.
01
Audit
Store, SEO, paid media, CRO, retention and technology reviewed together. You keep the document either way.
02
Identify Growth Opportunities
The three things costing you most, sized and ranked by likely revenue impact against the effort to fix them.
03
Build the Strategy
A twelve-month plan with named owners, target metrics and a sequence that fixes the store before it scales the spend.
04
Implement
Technical fixes, catalog and content first, then campaigns — so traffic lands on a store that can convert it.
05
Measure & Optimize
Weekly reporting on contribution, conversion and repeat rate, with a documented change log.
06
Scale
More channels, more SKUs, more markets — added once the current mix is genuinely working.
On Wix specifically, technical SEO and page weight are almost always the first two fixes, and they cost nothing but the work.
Fit

Is Wix actually good enough for a serious store?
For a large share of stores, yes. Wix handles catalog, payments, shipping, tax, automations and multi-currency perfectly well, and Wix Studio removed most of the old design constraints. Where it genuinely struggles is very large catalogs, complex B2B pricing rules and heavy custom checkout logic. We will tell you honestly if your requirements sit outside what the platform does well — but in most cases the store is underperforming because of configuration, not the platform.
Can Wix rank in Google?
Yes. The old reputation dates from a time when Wix genuinely was weak on SEO, and it stuck long after the platform fixed it. You get control over slugs, titles, meta descriptions, canonicals, structured data, redirects and robots. The problem is that almost nobody configures any of it. Technical SEO is normally the highest-return work available on an inherited Wix store, and it costs nothing but the effort.
Do you build on Wix or just manage existing stores?
Both. We build new stores on Wix Studio, redesign existing ones using the current conversion data as the brief, and take over stores built by someone else. Migrations onto Wix from Squarespace, WordPress and other hosted builders are scoped as projects rather than folded into a retainer.
What is Velo and when do we need it?
Velo is the development platform inside Wix — JavaScript, data collections, dynamic pages and API access. You need it when your requirement is real but no app covers it: custom quote forms, bespoke product configurators, dynamic pages generated from a data set, or integrations with a system that has no Wix app. Most stores never need it. The ones that do usually get told Wix cannot do it, which is wrong.
Our Wix site is slow. Can that be fixed?
Almost always, and usually without a rebuild. The common causes are uncompressed images, video backgrounds, animation on every section, and six apps each injecting scripts. We audit media weight, app scripts and third-party tags, then fix in that order. A typical store gets most of the available gain from image and app work alone.
How much of the store do you actually run?
As much as you want. Some clients hand over the whole store — catalog, merchandising, promotions, content, campaigns and reporting. Others keep operations in-house and use us for growth only. Either way you keep the account and the ownership; we work under our own permissions inside it.
Should we move off Wix to Shopify?
Sometimes, but far less often than people assume. Replatforming costs money, time and rankings, and it does not fix bad configuration — it just moves it. We would rather audit the store first and tell you whether the problem follows you. If the answer is genuinely yes, we run Shopify too and will say so plainly.
Who owns the Wix account?
You do, always. We work as collaborators under our own permissions inside your account. If the relationship ends, we remove our access and everything — the site, content, creative, campaigns, documentation — stays with you.
Find out what your Wix store is actually losing
Book a Wix audit. We will review the store, catalog, SEO, page speed, paid media, conversion and retention, and tell you which two things are costing you most — whether or not you hire us.
