Product Description Generator

Most product copy tools invent the facts. This one cannot. Give it the product name, the type, the specification and your own feature lines, and it returns a listing title measured against the marketplace you are selling on, up to five bullet points, and two description lengths. If a claim is not in what you typed, it will not appear in the output.

Ten fields, four outputs, and a character count on the title against Amazon, Etsy, eBay or your own store.

A title, bullet points and two description lengths from facts you can defend

Fill in what you can verify from the product sheet and leave the rest blank. The features box takes one line per claim, up to five, and those lines become the bullet points word for word and the sentences of the description in the order you wrote them. The register setting changes sentence shape, never substance.

Exactly as it appears on the product, without marketing words.
What the thing is, in the words a buyer would use.
Only what you can verify from the product sheet.
Leave blank rather than guessing.
Used once, in the first sentence, if it is not already there.
Only if buyers search for it.
Changes sentence shape only. It never adds a claim you did not type.
The full description always uses every line you give it. Nothing is padded.
Limits are listed under the tool.
Up to five lines. Write them as facts; the tool turns them into sentences and bullets without embellishing them.

What this does and does not do. It rearranges the words you typed into a title, bullet points and two description lengths. It invents nothing: if a claim is not in your inputs it will not appear in the output, which is why the register setting changes sentence shape rather than adding adjectives. Title limits: Amazon tightened product titles to 75 characters from 27 July 2026, and over-length titles are rewritten by Amazon rather than rejected, so confirm your own category template in Seller Central; Etsy allows up to 140 characters; eBay allows 80, with an optional paid 55-character subtitle. The 70-character guide for your own store is a display guide for search results, not a limit. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.

The title is where the character limit actually bites

Amazon tightened product titles to 75 characters from 27 July 2026 and now rewrites over-length titles with its own systems rather than rejecting the listing, which means a title you did not write can end up on your own product page.

Etsy allows up to 140 characters and eBay 80, with an optional paid subtitle of 55 more. Your own store has no limit at all, but Google truncates the title in search results at roughly 70 characters, so that is the working number for a page you control.

The tool measures the title against whichever of those you choose and trims at a word boundary rather than mid-word. If it has to trim, the fix is a shorter product name or type rather than a shorter keyword: the words a buyer actually types are the ones that need to survive the cut.

Four ways product copy loses the sale

Each of these is common, and none of them is fixed by writing more words.

Adjectives where a specification belongs

Premium, high-quality and durable are claims a buyer cannot check and a returns team cannot defend. 18/8 stainless steel, 750ml, double walled says more and is verifiable. This tool has no adjective list, which is the reason it cannot produce that sentence.

The same description on every channel

Marketplaces index your copy and so does your own site. Identical text across Amazon, Etsy and your store gives a search engine no reason to prefer your page and gives each marketplace’s own ranking nothing specific to match. Generate once, then rewrite for each place it goes.

Bullets that repeat the title

A buyer reads the title and then the bullets, in that order. Bullets that restate the title waste the only few lines a marketplace shows above the fold. Use them for what the title had no room for: compatibility, what is in the box, the measurement that decides fit.

Writing for the algorithm, not the return rate

A keyword-stuffed listing that converts can still be a loss, because the copy promised a fit, a size or a material the product does not have. Every line you cannot verify is a future refund, a negative review and, on a marketplace, a performance flag against the account.

Our product description template is the brief to fill in before anyone writes, and the meta description generator handles the snippet that gets a searcher onto the product page in the first place.

Product description FAQs

The questions this tool usually raises.

The template is the brief you fill in before anyone writes: shot list, specifications, proof points, search terms and who signs it off. This tool is the step after that, turning those facts into a title, bullets and two description lengths. Use the template to brief a catalogue; use this for the page in front of you.

No. It is a set of sentence patterns with your inputs placed into them, running entirely in your browser. There is no API key, no usage limit and nothing is sent anywhere. It is also why it cannot write a claim you did not type, which is the usual failure of AI-written product copy.

Long enough to answer the questions that cause returns, which in most categories means 80 to 200 words plus a specification list. Length is not a ranking factor. An unanswered question about fit, material or compatibility is what costs you the sale.

Generate once and then rewrite for each. Identical copy in both places helps neither, and marketplaces have their own rules on formatting, claims and contact details. In practice the bullets usually transfer unchanged and the description rarely does.

Because a register is a sentence shape and a tone is usually a set of adjectives. Adding premium or luxury would mean inserting claims about the product that you never made, which is the thing this tool exists to avoid. Write the claim in the features box and it will be used.

Neither is generated here. A specification table belongs in your product data rather than in prose, and Product structured data should be built from the same fields your store already holds, so the two can never disagree. The copy here is the part a buyer reads, not the part a crawler parses.

Traffic to the product page, but nothing in the basket?
