eCommerce Templates That Are Actual Files
Most things published as an eCommerce template are a long article with the word template in the title. These are working files: spreadsheets with formulas that calculate, documents with fields to fill, downloadable without giving us an email address.
- Real XLSX and DOCX files, not screenshots of one
- Formulas that work and example rows you delete
- No email wall, no sign-up, no watermark
Every template here is a file we use internally before we publish it.
- The standard
A template should save you an afternoon, not describe one
The test we apply before publishing: could somebody open this file and start working in under a minute, without reading the page it came from?
Templates that need a tutorial before they are usable have failed the only test that matters.
If the answer is no, it is an article rather than a template, and it belongs in guides instead. That rule is why this library grows slowly and why each file here is one we already use on client work.
- Real file formats: XLSX for spreadsheets, DOCX for documents
- Working formulas, so the calculated columns calculate
- A read-me tab or section that explains the thinking in five lines
- Example rows marked as examples, so you can see the intended use
- Nothing gated, tracked or watermarked — download and use it
Use them commercially, edit them, put them in your own workflow and remove our name if you like. We would rather the work was useful than credited.
- The library
Published templates
Three are live as downloadable files. The rest are named so you can see what is coming; they are not linked until the file exists.
XLSX · live
Four tabs: keyword list with an opportunity score, page map, cluster view and a read-me that explains the one-keyword-one-page rule.
- Opportunity scoring built in
- Page map that exposes cannibalisation
- Cluster view showing demand with no page
XLSX · live
Monthly trading, channel mix and a definitions tab, calculating through to contribution margin rather than stopping at revenue and ROAS.
- Twelve months of trading metrics
- Channel mix with ROAS and CAC per channel
- Contribution margin, calculated properly
DOCX · live
A structured brief for product copy, in the order a shopper reads, with specification and SEO fields built in.
- Specification table with reasons
- An objection section most copy skips
- Meta fields and a pre-publish check

- Our standard
What makes it into this library
Four rules, applied before anything is published here.
It has to be a file
- XLSX for anything with calculation in it
- DOCX where the output is written rather than counted
- Opens in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or LibreOffice
- No macros, so nothing is blocked by your IT policy
The formulas have to work
- Calculated columns calculate on open
- Errors are handled, so a blank row does not show an error
- Totals and derived metrics included where they matter
- No hidden sheets doing something you cannot inspect
It has to explain itself
- A read-me tab or opening section, five lines or fewer
- Example rows clearly marked, so the intent is obvious
- Column headings that say what to put in them
- A note on the mistake people usually make with it
It has to be free to use
- No email address required to download
- No watermark, tracking pixel or locked cells
- Use it commercially, for clients, inside your own products
- Remove our name if you would rather it were yours
If a file here breaks any of the four, tell us and we will fix it or take it down.
- How they fit together
Templates, checklists and guides do different jobs
The three resource types are deliberately different, and using the wrong one for a job wastes time.
01
TO UNDERSTAND
Chapter-length explanations of how something works and why. Read once, refer back occasionally.
02
TO ASSESS
Run against a live store to produce a list of findings. Repeatable, quarterly or after a change.
03
TO DO THE WORK
The files you work inside once you know what needs doing. Used weekly rather than read.
04
TO GET IT DONE FOR YOU
We run the assessment, fill in the templates with your numbers and hand you the findings.
- Once the file is full
Services that work from these same documents
Every template here is a simplified version of something we run internally.
Keyword research, page mapping and the architecture work the keyword template is built for.
Trading, reporting and the contribution margin work behind the KPI dashboard template.
Product copy, photography and catalogue content produced at volume from briefs like these.
- Questions
About these templates
What people ask before downloading.
Do I have to give you my email address?
No. Nothing on this site is gated. The download links go straight to the file, there is no form in front of them, and we do not know who downloaded what.
Can I use these commercially, or for my clients?
Yes. Use them for your own business, for client work, inside an agency, or as the starting point for something you sell. Remove our name if you prefer. We would rather the work was useful than attributed.
Will these open in Google Sheets or Numbers?
Yes. The spreadsheets are standard XLSX with no macros, so Google Sheets, Numbers and LibreOffice all open them, and the formulas carry across. The documents are standard DOCX and open in Word, Google Docs and Pages.
Why are there example rows in the files?
Because a blank template is harder to use than it looks. The examples show what belongs in each column, and every one is marked so you can delete them in a single pass before you start.
Are these the same files you use internally?
They are simplified versions of them. Our working files carry client data, integrations and reporting connections that would not transfer. The structure and the formulas are the same.
What if I find a mistake in a formula?
Tell us through the contact page and we will fix it and re-publish. A template with a broken calculation is worse than no template, because it produces confident wrong answers.
Will you build a template we need but you have not published?
Often, yes. The in-production list is ordered partly by what people ask for, so telling us moves it up. If it is specific to your business it is probably a piece of consulting rather than a template, and we will say so.
Do you offer these in Notion or Google Sheets format?
Not yet. XLSX and DOCX import cleanly into both, which covers most of the need. If demand for native versions is real we will add them rather than assume.
Would you rather we filled these in with your numbers?
A free eCommerce audit puts your own data through the same structures these templates use, and hands you the findings ranked by revenue impact.
